Hi, I am Angie Terrell.

Based in Atlanta, GA

I'm a self-taught photographer with a background in gender studies, anthropology, and user experience. My practice of photography centers on exploring how societal and cultural histories determine individual experience in the present. My long-form projects are subjective explorations of my relationship to the people, communities, and environments of the American South and Midwest. Even though my work is informed by political and societal forces that shape our present, my intention is to create poetic meditations of our shared histories, lingering on the subtleties of light and detail.

I was accepted into the inaugural Magnum long-term mentorship program in 2020-2021 and the Chico Review in 2024.
